James Alexander is Senior Vice President of Info-Tech Research Group's Indaba division. He is responsible for the development of the Indaba division's strategy and products as Info-Tech extends its value proposition to information and communication technology firms. An industry veteran, James has held management and executive positions over the past 25 years at such industry-leading organizations as Microsoft Canada and the CTI Solutions Group. James was also one of the founding partners of Metafore Corporation, an award-winning Canadian solutions provider.




Ross Armstrong

Ross Armstrong is a Lead Research Analyst at Info-Tech Research Group focusing on strategy and leadership. He has 12 years experience in building and leading research programs, products and services in a variety of industries including information technology, mobility, consumer electronics, and the automotive sector.

Whether providing tactical advice to small businesses or assisting large enterprises with strategic issues, Ross focuses on helping clients overcome critical challenges and achieve IT excellence. With business expertise in areas ranging from legislative compliance, to disaster recovery, to IT governance, he consistently maintains a consultative and hands-on approach to resolving clients' problems.

Prior to joining Info-Tech Research Group, Ross held a number of positions at Research In Motion. For several years he was the Market Research Lead for RIM's portfolio of B2B software and services before moving into the role of Senior Manager of Research Integration and Best Practices.

Ross has had a hand in the conception and creation of many of Info-Tech Research Group's products and services, with particular focus on the development and implementation of IT best practice frameworks and methodologies, OptimizeIT, and MeasureIT.

Throughout his career Ross has also been a teacher, marketing specialist, and copywriter. Ross has a Master of Arts degree in English from the University of Western Ontario and is currently a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).


Sandi Conrad

Sandi Conrad is a Senior Research Analyst for Info-Tech Research Group. She has extensive experience in software licensing and asset management.

Prior to joining Info-Tech, Sandi ran her own consulting company covering many positions including Account Representative, Consultant, Project Manager and Accountant. There she educated clients on best asset management practices, provided gap analyses, risk management consulting and software auditing services. During this time she also authored the Software Asset Management Starter Kit.

Sandi has been in the software business since 1991, working for both Large Account Resellers (LAR) and Value Added Resellers (VAR) and was one of the first Software Contract Administrators in Canada. She has been providing consulting services since 1996, helping hundreds of clients to understand their obligations and rights under a myriad of contracts, developing short and long term software acquisition strategies and comparing licensing programs to find the most advantageous options for her clients.

Sandi is a certified software manager with SIIA, certified software practitioner with IBSMA, certified hardware asset management professional (CHAMP) with IAITAM, Microsoft Certified Software Asset Management Specialist, Microsoft Certified Volume Licensing Specialist. She also holds several technical sales and sales certifications with various software publishers.


Davin Juusola

Davin Juusola joined Info-Tech Research Group in 1999 after working at the Business Development Bank of Canada. As Vice President, Research and Development, he has worked closely with Info-Tech President and CEO, Joel McLean, to define, develop and launch major new products and services to Info-Tech clients over the past twelve years. He has also completed and delivered consulting and custom research engagements to companies in a number of industries, including insurance, investment banking, medical, manufacturing, software, and law enforcement. Davin is a regular speaker in leadership and technology forums.

Davin is a graduate of The Richard Ivey School of Business at The University of Western Ontario.


James Quin

James Quin is a Lead Research Analyst with Info-Tech Research Group and has over 15 years of experience in the IT industry, including over 12 years in Risk Management. He has worked in all aspects of IT Security including consulting, project management, technical delivery, pre-sales, and sales. As a Lead Analyst for the Info-Tech Research Group, James runs the Risk Management practice and is responsible for all research in the areas of IT Security, Regulation and Compliance, and Disaster Preparedness as well as for those analysts that produce material in these areas.

Prior to joining Info-Tech, James served in multiple capacities with Secured Services Inc., a start-up IT Security services and software company. Often holding multiple roles concurrently, James' exposure to all aspects of the organization, as well as his participation in the transition of the company from a dedicated services organization to a dedicated software organization significantly expanded his knowledge of the IT Security field.

Formerly, James worked with Arqana Technologies, a Toronto-area VAR as a Business Development Manager performing sales, sales support, project management, and consulting activities and it was here that he gained his first exposure to IT Security and Risk Management.

James' career began with AT&T Canada, one of Canada's first alternative long-distance telecommunications carriers, in the Operations Planning group where he progressed to the role of Senior Planning Analyst with responsibility for all storage infrastructure.

James attended the University of Toronto and holds a Bachelor of Arts, and Honours Bachelor of Science, and a Master of Science degrees.
